[Imc-auckland] FW: [Imc-aotearoa] skill sharing

Hey all
Unless someone wants to call an earlier meeting, I'm figuring on calling an
Indymedia Auckland meeting in August to discuss where we're at in Auckland -
sustainability, outreach, skill sharing (i.e. Identifying the skills on
these organising lists and what each person on these lists can bring to the
collective - working on the hypothesis that a little done by many can amount
to a lot).
Below, as a prompt, are some ideas being discussed on the main list about
activities being organised in Wellington. BTW anybody can join the national
list and contribute to issues being discussed. I'll keep passing on bits
and pieces as they come up, but encourage you to get involved with the
national list
Before then, I'll set up an agenda page for people to contribute to on the
Wiki. In the interim before the meeting, perhaps you want to think about
issues like sustainability, outreach, skill sharing etc. and whether these
organising lists are the right lists for you - or whether it's more
appropriate to be on the events notices list, or if another kind of list is
needed.
I'm prepared to put put effort into helping reinvigorate the Auckland
Collective, but am wary of the classic (and ultimately unsustainable)
scenario of a few people taking on organising responsibilities with the
outcome being that when they no longer want to be involved, the group and
its activities collapse. I favour rotational responsibilities - while
recognising that someone occasionally has to jump in and take the initiative
in order to generate activity.
What do y'all think?
