TROLLEY JAM TOO - An action against Progressive Enterprises in support of the locked out distribution workers
The distribution workers in Christchurch, Palmerston North and Auckland are now in the 4th week of the lock out. They are still wanting to negotiate with Progressive Enterprises about a national collective accord. Support has been growing, with a delegation arriving today from Australia, and nearly $200K in donations.
To quote my Dad, a lifelong national voter, "I'm not sure what Progressive are playing at."
Our actions here against Progressive here are part of a growing movement that will not accept this disturbing new trend in industrial relations, brought to Aotearoa New Zealand by multinational corporates. There have been trolley jams in Gisborne, Tauranga, Wellington and Christchurch.
So here we go again. On Friday 22 September from 5.30-6.30pm we are going to trolley jam Countdown Bethlehem, Tauranga. And you and your mates are invited!
Assemble in front of Hell's Pizza across from Countdown on SH2 by 5.30pm to take part in the trolley jam.
Letters to leave on top of your trolleys explaining why we have done this action, will be supplied on the day. Press releases and photos will be sent out immediately after the action (see Scoop for our last effort).
This will work best with a lot of people, so please forward this onto your networks.
This is a non-violent action that will not involve shop-lifting. Be aware we will be filmed on CCTV, and may be required to converse with security guards, management and maybe even police in the course of our action. However, it is not an illegal action, merely an annoying one.
For further details, you can contact me Graham Cameron 027 484 2845 or bidoiscameron at paradise.net.nz. I will be co-ordinator on the day.
Power to the people, see you there,
Graham
