[Imc-auckland] NO WARP! Petition signature collection

The Network Opposed to Weapons and Related Production (NO WARP!) have recently produced a new national petition 'End government support for military exports'.

The NZ Defence Industry Association is a collection of NZ companies that produce and export weapons and components, military communications and training equipment, logistics equipment, and a variety of other military-related equipment.
These companies are supported by our government through tax breaks, grants, advice and export promotion.

This petition calls for the government to end all association with this violent industry.

On Thursday 21 September from 11am - 1pm, I will be collecting signatures for this petition at Red Square in central Tauranga. You are welcome to join me.

No great knowledge of the defence industry in NZ is necessary, but you can find some basics out at http://www.converge.org.nz/pma/nowarp.htm
