[Imc-auckland] Meeting Minutes 4/2/07 -Funds, MultiMedia Group, Next Meeting

Kia ora all, 

As you know we had the Aotearoa Indymedia Convergence over the weekend in Auckland. ((More info on that to be fed back at a later date)) During the convergence we held a "local caucus" where people from Auckland (some long time IMCers and some very new) met to re-establish the Auckland Indymedia Collective.

The following is our meeting minutes and the decisions to do with funds need to be ratified over this email list, so read carefully and if you have any objections nows the time to raise it and for us to discuss these provisional decisions :

Funds: 
1. Bank account signatories- to transfer from Chloe to Omar and Kathy Lane, ((To people who don't know her: Kathy is a long term activist who has looked after the GPJA database for ages and is just getting involved in Indy))

2. To transfer the $280 of Auckland Indymedia money that Omar has in his possesion as a result of donations; to the Indy.org.nz server Axxs, to help them cover their costs. Also to transfer a further $220 of Auckland Indymedia funds to Axxs to make the entire donation to our server $500. Note: $500 was the amount agreed during the convergence to give to Axxs.

3. To make available the use of up to $200 to pay for the exclusive use of the Oblong internet cafe in Wellington so that we can host the IndyGeek Bootcamp. 

4. To make available a certain amunt of funds (yet to be decided) for Indymedia to purchase a MiniDisc Player as a way of digitally recording audio for streaming on our website and then to Low Power FM and Internet stations like Radio Chomsky, podcasting and what not.


Auckland Mult((i))media Group

During the meeting we decided that in order to get more people excited about the potentials of multimedia technology, sharing their own stories and empowering their communitties we needed a group that could act as a base in Auckland where people who want to shoot video/make radio shows/take photos can come to and borrow technology, gain skills, and coordinate on projects. 

1. To look into what sort of MiniDisk player and microphone we would need to make available within the group.

2. To produce material advertising the Auckland Mult((i))media group for distribution digitally and in the real world.

3. In the group so far- Omar, Kathy, Davian, Aaron, Phil, Bruce, Daph, Farrell

4. To use the imc-auckland-video list to co-ordinate the groups internal activities.
