Kia ora koutou

To all those who made it to this weekend's Convergence, great to meet
you / see you again. I'm confident the event was a shot in the arm for
the Aotearoa Indy network and hopefully some of our enthusiasm and
resulting action will spill over into organising at the Oceania/
Pasifica and Global scales.

I want to re-emphasise the importance of face-to-face contact,
especially for addressing the gender balance within Indy as mentioned
by women during my Challenges session in the weekend. I think a
monthly networking meeting and a contact list so people can keep in
touch and initiate small group projects would be a fantastic asset in
a sprawling metropolis like Tamaki Makaurau.

As a current denizen of Poneke, I've been on this list for the
purposes of Convergence organising so I'm going to remove myself
today. Feel free to keep in touch with me on a one-to-one basis
(strypey at riseup.net). Also I encourage all of you to join and
participate in the imc-aotearoa list, this is the space is which this
weekend's networking, debating and plotting can continue. Hopefully we
can all help to find people willing to be Indy contacts in as many
cities and towns as possible and get them to join that list.

The multimedia group sounds great and I look forward to seeing some of
you at the BOOT camp in Whanganui-a-Tara.
