Convergence is only a week and a half away and things are coming
together nicely. One thing that is going to need a chunk of work is
food. Having hot drink stuff and communal meals makes it easier for
people to stay focused and stay at the venue rather than having to
wander off and buy expensive takeaways. It's also nice to eat and chat
together, allowing a flow of ideas and discussion outside of the
formal program of workshops.
I am happy to co-ordinate the food for the event but I can use all the
help I can get. I would like to have cooked dinners for the Friday/
Sat/ Sun and salad and bread (maybe soup?) for lunches on Sat/ Sun.
I'd We will need to get some money from the Auckland funds for a
shopping trip (Wed or Thur?).
Some things I could use help with:
- general food prep and clean-up
- keen shoppers who know good places to get cheap, reasonable stuff
- dumpstering, especially for bread, bagels etc
- approaching places like organic shops who might be sympathetic to
Indymedia and willing to donate stuff
Also it would be good if I could get a few people to be head chef for
one meal each. After all, Indymedia is all about spreading the
workload and collectivising the benefits ;)
If you can help with any of this please email the list or me
(strypey at riseup.net) or contact me via cell 021 11 77 578.
