CKUT's Tuesday Morning After program will be hosting a full line-up of
guests, lectures, live interviews and music in celebration of
International Women's Day on Tuesday March 8, from 7-9am. Tune-in as we
explore various women's issues, experiences and struggles, with the aim of
providing voice to groups and issues often silenced by major media
institutions and within dominate political discourse.

-> 7am: Incite! Women of Colour Against Violence:
An interview with INCITE!'s Julia Sudbury, who is a member of the
organizing team of this year's Colour of Violence III conference in New
Orleans, LA happening March 11-13. For information on INCITE! visit them

-> 7:15am: International Women's Day events in Montreal:
A report back from International Women's Day events in Montreal. Including
excerpts from the event "Global Reengineering: The Feminization of
Migration and Modern Slavery", organized by the 8th March Coordination and
Action Committee of Women of Diverse Origins.
-> 7:30am: Women Living Under Muslim Laws:
An on-air interview with Cassandra Balchin of organization "Women Living
Under Muslim Laws" WLUML based in London, England. The interview will
focus on WLUML's international solidarity network and current projects.

-> 7:45am: Sisters in Spirit, Violence & Colonialism Against Native Women:
An excerpt of a speech given by Ceejai of the Carrier Nation who is a
survivor of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside sex trade. Ceejai will give
insight into the 500+ disappeared Native women in BC, 63 of whom
disappeared from Vancouver's downtown eastside and to date the remains and
DNA of 31 women have been found at a Port Coquitlam pig farm. For more

-> 8am: Interview with International Womens Peace Service in Palestine: An
on-air interview with an activist involved with the International Women's
Peace Service (IWPS) based in village in the Salfit in the West Bank. The
interview will focus on the struggles of Palestinian women organizing
against the Israeli occupation and patriarchy. For more information on

-> 8:15am: An on-air interview with Sunera Thobani:
A discussion with Sunera Thobani about International Women's Day. Sunera
is assistant professor at the Centre for Research in Women's Studies and
Gender Relations at the University of British Columbia. Her research
focuses on globalization, nation-building, citizenship, migration and race
and gender relations. Dr. Thobani was the first woman of colour to aserve
as president of the National Action Committee on the Status of Women
(NAC), Canada's largest feminist organization.

A on-air interview with a member of the Women of Diverse Origins Action
Committeee about the International Women's Day march in Montreal.
