[IMC-Audio] new indy radio project

I think the imc radio list is the place to ask for hosting.

As for archiving and podcasting, radioActive sanDiego was moving towards
using drupal, which has an esay to use interface so that djs can upload
their shows and have them automatically podcasted, because each user
account has its own rss feed which is their podcast. I think that
radio.indy runs on drupal now as well.

We have some simple linux scripts for starting and ending an archive
using icecast, but they're not very good as they kick all listeners off
of the stream. I think you'll need to compile the kernel so that you can
have multiple instances of darkice running and accessing the sound
device. We didn't do this, so we would just stop darkice and restart it
with a config file that included a local file archive. Not at all the
best solution, but since it was also on fm and podcast, it wasn't
totally priority. It always seemed like there were few online live
listeners, like 1/10 of the number that would podcast or 1/100th even.

I just never got around to writing something better. I think mark has
some scripts that they were using in sf for archiving that are better.
