Andy and I are in Amman now and are leaving early early tomorrow morning for baghdad, should arrive in the morning. We're bringing in 2 cameras, 1 computer, and from this list $1700. |!!!!!!
Ramsi has the admin password for the website right mike|?
I can try to arrange the features from there if i have the password.

maybe the best way to get the entire document to the web team is to send it via split -- this is a pc program that splites and reassembles files on the other end. if you can get this i will try to do that from baghdad.

2 questions re the website |(which hopefully i'll be able to get replies to before i leave|)
- who should i contact re updating and changing th website, i've been assuming mike....is this right on|?

--any solutions on getting a new server|?Rene from so36.net has offered a highbandwidth server. mike, i sent you his email, pls feel free to contact him for tech help. he's fantastic and people tere are very eagerto hlp out with the project.

ok,
think that's it for now,
will check back on email before we leave tonight

keep your faith,
jacquie

All,

The UN is offering free email access to all NGOs, so
we can send out the paper from here after all. The 2nd
issue is on the streets, and we're working on the 3rd.

I emailed Chris & Mike the files for the 2nd issue,
but was unable to email the Corel Draw document with
the actual paper. It's over 9megs & I can't find a
free web-based email that lets me mail attachments
that large.

I tried uploading the paper directly to the website,
but was unable to do it for some reason. Likewise, I
tried posting directly to the website, but couldn't
figure it out (the stories went to the "newswire."
When Jacquie gets here she should be able to train
stupid ole me on how to do this right :-))

The paper currently has $900 in cash, plus whatever
this issue brings in (we'll find out in a few days).
So we will be able to print a 3rd issue. I'm not sure
how much $$$ Jacquie & Andrew are bringing in, but I
think a 4th issue is probably not a problem. We do
need to buy more computers & equipment & fix up the
office (btw, an Italian NGO has offered to donate some
old computers - pentium 1 166mhz - which should be
good for wordprocessing. i'm not sure when/how they'll
arrive here though).

Money is still a BIG issue, so... anything folks can
help out with on that will be greatly appreciated.

No word on when communications will improve here.
There are rumors that the whole country will go mobile
(cell phones) soon, but... ???

The UN email deal is great, but I'm still not going to
be able to check mail more that once a week or so...
it's a ways off...

Regards,
Ramzi
