I agree that we need to be very careful about how our
intentions are percived- particularly as we are
getting involved at such a difficult time..

I must admit to ignorance of the ammount of English
speaking Iraqi's in Iraq - I assume it must be a
significant minority, otherwise I can't imagine why
the articles would be written in English in the first
place...

I still think that it would be possible to use
language as a 'spam filter' and that it would also
send a clear message (actions speak louder than words
IMHO) That we are not part of the Imperialist project
and support Iraqis rights to self determination.

I was suggesting that the newswire on the right of the
page only accept arabic script. But that english
comments/translations on the Arabic/Kurdish articles
would be possible.

I was also assuming that each article in the newspaper
would become a 'middle page' article on the website
and as such could be written in English or Arabic
without affecting this proposal.
