You are invited to a Tadamon! organizational meeting in Beirut, which will
focus on building toward the establishment of the Tadamon! initiave, which
groups together activists and political organizers in Lebanon who are
engaged on issues of social justice. This will be the second
organizational meeting of the Tadamon! initiative in Lebanon, to follow-up
on a first meeting which grouped together 15 people representing a diverse
elements of social justice struggles in the country.

As a result of the first organizational meeting, it was decided that a
group delegated from the meeting will draft a statement which outlines the
nature and intent of the Tadamon!, which will then be presented to the
general meeting for discussion and to be adopted by the group.

The key points which were agreed on at the first organizational meeting
and will serve as reference points in drafting the Tadamon! statement,
were that the initiative will group together activists and political
organizers in Lebanon, while marinating a non-NGO structure open to all
individuals interested in being involved.

That Tadamon! will focus on struggles for social and economic justice
throughout Lebanon, with a particular focus on the conditions and lack of
civil and social rights of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. Tadamon! will
also organize to network existing movements and organizing taking place in
Lebanon, with a focus on creating links with international movements for
social justice in an aim of building joint projects and campaigns with
international activists....

In terms of future action, events and projects of Tadamon!, this will be
discussed at the upcoming meeting, outlined are the proposal which emerged
from the first meeting....

-> 1) Developing a political campaign and organizing work on the issue of
Palestinian civil and social rights in Lebanon, which would have an
international focus and build on already existing work on this issue.

-> 2) Creating a full list of NGO's and activist groups already active in
Lebanon to serve as a reference point for future organizing of the
Tadamon! initiative.

-> 3) Organizing a speaking tour within Lebanese universities and
internationally on the issues facing Palestinians in the camps of Lebanon.

-> 4) Developing concrete projects in the refugee camps with Palestinian
children which address their concrete needs in the camps, while building
on and supporting already existing work on this front.

-> 5) Developing joint independent media projects which highlight social
and economic justice struggles in Lebanon, with the Independent Media
Center network serving as a starting point.

-> 6) Organizing specific periods or campaigns for international activists
to travel to Lebanon and plug into social justice work taking place in the
camps and throughout Lebanon
