I simply do not see this discussion leading to anything more than giving
us more heartache, and I seriously mean that. The people who are now
freezing the project are EXTREMLY emotionaly attached to it and it was not
an easy decision (again I say that). We have tried a lot (especially Blue
and myself though we have been abroad for a long while - and also Mo in
Beirut) and things lead no where!
If we had the slightest (realistic) hope that things can work we would not
have spared a chance. I am sorry to feel a bit discredited by this whole
discussion, it is just repeating discussions we have had over and over
again! We have said that we are only freezing the website, keeping the
list and even helping H. maintain it... so I do not see why a
re-activation of the website should be treated as a whole new process!!!!
I simply do not see a point of leaving us and everyone else hanging up in
the air, nor keeping the website as a spam pool (which I think is not the
case anymore, Zapata said it was frozen, which is cool).
I say go for it Blue, write an email to the concerned lists explaining the
situation, then please send the draft to the IMC beirut list so we can
check it before sending it out and maybe posting it as a startpage
special, including an invitation for people to take over.
Big thank you for all the messages of support that we are recieving, on
the list and on personal basis. Lots of love to all, and I guess many of
us will not leave Indymedia, we are still making noise in other
Indymedias.. it is just freezing in Beirut.. but who knows.. summer might
come soon!
solidarity,
