On friday October 14th at 214 N. Washington Street, Big Muddy IMC will be screening "Evolution of Community". Dr. Fatimah N. Muhammad will be at the screening of her powerful documentary on the evolution of the Muslim community after Elijah Muhammad. This is an opportunity to discuss and learn about a community that makes up the largest portion of Muslims in America. 

Evolution of a Community converges on important angles in studies of African-American history and Al-Islam. It offers a glimpse of the developments that took place among Muslim African Americans after the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and his Nation of Islam. With Elijah Muhammad's son, Imam W. Deen Mohammed, the community has held together, stabilized, strengthened, and risen to become a beacon for the growth of Islam in America.
Surveys each year from 1975-1995 as extracted from the self-told history of the Muslim Community that has been known as the Lost-Found Nation of Islam, the World Community of Al-Islam in the West, and the American Muslim Mission. 
The screening is free to the public. A flyer is attached.
