[Imc-bigmuddy] Sustainable Living Expo is Saturday! Dixon Springs Ag Center

 There is an incredible new event in southern Illinois this weekend:
the Sustainable
Living Expo <http://www.shawneercd.org/expo.html>!
This is being organized by Shawnee Resource Conservation & Development Area
(RC&D) <http://www.shawneercd.org/About_Us.html> and many partner groups.

It takes place at the Dixon Springs Agricultural Center, and features
workshops and presentations in four main tracks:

1) ENERGY - The Shawnee Energy Fest has teamed up with Sustainable Living
Expo, and will have lots of info about home weatherization for $$ savings,
easy efficiency options, renewable energy, and much more!

2) LOCAL FOODS - From various gardening techniques to fish management to
healthy eating on a budget, and everything in-between!

3) SURVIVAL - Learn how to create family emergency plans, avoiding farm
accidents, the how's and why's of neighborhood mapping, and more!

4) CONSERVATION - Includes offerings on landscaping, wildlife management,
timber production and protection ("Watch Your Ash" re: the Emerald Ash
Borer), as well as home recycling, composting, and vermicomposting (worms!!)
- this track definitely has something for everyone!

The all-day event Saturday is *FREE* and registered participants will be
entered in a drawing for a *beautiful* quilted throw blanket.
