o FILM: "End of Suburbia." This
award-winning film explores the American Way of Life
and its prospects as the planet approaches a critical
era, as global demand for fossil fuels begins to
outstrip supply, and fuel prices rise to new market
highs forcing many citizens and businesses to the edge
of financial collapse. Sponsored by the NEPA
Alternative Energy Alliance, the Green Party of
Susquehanna County, and Binghamton Indymedia. Montrose

* THURSDAY.
o RADIO: "Bill Huston Presents," 4 - 7 PM,
WHRW, 90.5 FM. An eclectic mix of news reporting,
commentary, and talk radio with Bill Huston, Tarik
Abdelazim, Amanda Postula, Vera Scroggins and friends.
Tune in--you never know what you might miss.
* SATURDAY.
o "Social Security 70th Anniversary
Celebration Trip to Hyde Park." We will join with
seniors, union members and others from all across New
York state to celebrate 70 years of Social Security
success. The focus of the celebration is to stop the
plan to privatize Social Security. A bus trip from
Binghamton to Hyde Park is being planned. Sponsored by
Citizen Action. Call 723-0110 for reservations or more

o Indymedia 2005 Video Screening Series
continues, with Rich Media, Poor Democracy and Beyond
Good and Evil: Children, Media, & Violent Times. Both
films are about 35-minutes long, and each presents a
compelling angle as to how media dangerously shapes
our national discussion. Lost Dog Cafe, corner of
Water and Henry Streets. Films begin at 7 PM. Free,
but donations are appreciated. This screening will

* SUNDAY.
o Benefit Concert & Dance for Waterman
Conservation Education Center to Rebuild Brick Pond.
At Magic City Music Hall, Johnson City, NY. Featuring
the music of: Wild Rose, String Band Central, Twin
River Junction, Fine Companions, Sammi Garrett, Terry
Kelleher, Chuck Mott. Dancing and Music for the whole
family, and door Prizes as well. Tickets just $7. Join
us for an afternoon of music and dance in support of
Waterman Center!
o St Patrick's Four Mailing Party. At 1 PM,
volunteers will meet to address 1000 postcards to
newspapers across this country. Packets of 50 or 100
beautifully designed postcards, with stamps and
mailing addresses, will be available, so if you can't
stay, just swing by and pick up a packet and promise
to complete promptly. If you can help, please contact

* MONDAY. "Peace Vigil," from 4:30 -5:30 in front
of the Federal Courthouse, Henry St. Binghamton.
Repeats weekly. Extra signs are available, just bring
a warm body, a strong heart.
* TWO-MINUTE ACTION ALERT. In commemoration of the
400,000 people who have died so far in the genocide in
Darfur, Africa Action launched a petition drive to
raise 400,000 voices of conscience across the country
demanding that the U.S. government do everything
necessary through the United Nations (UN) to ensure an
urgent multinational intervention to protect civilians
