Binghamton Bridge and the Center for Gender, Art, and Culture are promoting
connections in the community and helping progressive groups *extend their
outreach* to new people. We encourage you to use the calendar, post articles

Health Care for All New York and HCFANY's Racial and Ethnic Disparities Task
Force are working to ensure that all New Yorkers have access to
comprehensive, quality, affordable, and accessible health care regardless of
race, ethnicity, gender, disability status, or sexual orientation/gender
expression.
Join us for a day of events to promote implementation of the new federal
health care law in our state that addresses health disparities.

On Monday, April 18 there will be a Mass of Reconciliation & Peace at 7 =
pm at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1031 Chenango St., Binghamton. We =
will take this time to remember a non-violent God and pray for peace in
Libya, Iraq & Afghanistan.

Solar Power To The People
Gay Canough owns a local business, ETM Solar Works, which has been
installing solar power in residences, businesses and institutions for
over 20 years.
She will talk on the principles and applications of solar power for our
times and location.
The public is welcome. Entrance to the social hall is from the parking
lot in back of the church. Light refreshments are served following the
meeting.

  GREEN THUMBS AND HARVEST KITCHEN EDUCATION SERIES: Composting

Composting at home is easy and benefits both the environment and your garden
soil. This workshop will explain what goes in a compost bin, how to manage
it, and how to get the most from the compost you make. Weather permitting we
will walk to the nearby VINES community garden to see composting in action.
This free workshop is presented by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome
County and sponsored by VINES.

Channel 4 on Time Warner Cable, featuring local peacemaking events: Wilton
Vought, videographer/producer. Videos also available on-line at
http://essentialdissent.blogspot.com   There is a calendar at the bottom of
this blog which lists upcoming shows. Wilton is available to videotape local
peace, justice, and environmental events such as speeches, lectures, panel
discussions, workshops etc. on a case-by-case basis. He currently has public
access TV shows in Binghamton, Ithaca, and Oneonta, and can bring your event
to a potential audience of approximately 150,000 households. Call him at

Regional Sustainability Coalition (BRSC) BRSC is working to become a
regional information clearinghouse to promote new and existing
sustainability efforts, a source for sustainability training and education,
a center for networking and coordination and an advocacy group that builds
community support for public policies that further our mission.
