1. Website
------------
- Agreed to do a new banner for the Birmingham site or, at least, fix
(resize) the current one.
- Agreed to change the colour of hyper links to purple (at the moment it's
just bold black).
- People were told about the new design that will be implemented soon for
the UK startpage (see
http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/ImcUkStartpageChanges). This could be
partially implemented for the Birmingham startpage as well when it's
ready. It is less linear and more interactive and definitely looks better.
To be discussed further when ready.
2. Features
-------------
As usual, we said we need to do more features. Features people are/will be
working on include:
- the National Blood Service campaign;
- the campaign against the Church of Scientology;
- the job cuts at the MAC;
- Academy schools/PFI;
- Asylum housing.
3. Screenings
---------------
- One The Verge (a film about the Smash EDO campaign that pulled by cops
when they first tried to show it in Brighton. Date: first/second week of
May. Possible venues: Rainbow, the Custard Factory.
- It was felt that it's not worth the effort to do screenings at Drop
Beats Not Bombs events any more, especially that now we don't even have a
room and the event has lost much of its political content. It was agreed
to meet with B.D. and discuss this with him.
4. Outreach
-------------
- It was agreed to contact The Stirrer people
(http://www.thestirrer.co.uk) and explore the possibility of future
collaboration.
- We were invited by the IWW to take part in two events they're
organising: the Workers Memorial Day on April 19th and the International
Workers Days on May 1st. It would be good to show some of the workers
struggles shorts we did, like the Posties and NBS ones.
- We need to sort out the imc-birmingham-announce list and make good use
of it.
