It was good to see Rob.

Dana was unbelievable-lifting those speakers!  But
maybe we should send some folks to help him load and
unload next time.

Shindig goer #A says: "Solid event and it felt good to
support indymedia"

It was too hot--> next time Jamie and Petrina can
bring their AC's (but read below- next time may be in
September.

No SNAFU's- No bad calls from HSF

We had Soda- which was good.

We could do better on publicity

dave says we started a trend

we could bring our little TV for the table next time

We drank maybe 1 and 1/3 of our two kegs, 100 people
drank 200 beers.  good for noting next time. 

Dave says "the drinkers were patronizing us regularly"

One dude didn't have an ID and he was old enough, but
we didn't serve him

The cops were cool- the dorms ratted on us- Petrina
vows revenge

The library was hopping, thanks papercut! (we should
thank them)

we made approx $660-670 after expenses.  $640 is still
in the bank

Dana suggests having a "producer" next time, to
coordinate who does what, what needs doing etc.

We were somewhat shorthanded- we had just enough
people so some of us worked the whole night nonstop

Dana talked a while about the flow of the event-
noticing how people reacted to video vs.
dancing/music.  suggested that next time we do a segue
from video to music and dancing somehow...

started talking about ideas for the next one, then
moved on (see next one discussion below)

---Buttons and stickers---

Pete found a guy on the web to do buttons cheep 600
for $85
But everbody agreed stickers were the way to go.  
Dana offered to pay because he's tired of people
arguing about small amounts of money, he then wrote a
check.  
Pete proposed that the group reimburse him later
anyway- that's a drag reason to have to donate.

---Sustainers---

-dave proposed getting sustainers (people who give
their credit card number so to make regular monthly
donations, somebody rings it in every month on our
banks website) the LPC has had much success with this
-pete told of earlier efforts, everything's ready to
go, even approved in gen meeting
***Dave will propose that we put a link to an
explanation of this on the website (infodoc maybe?)
***We need someone who everyone trusts and can work
like clockwork (same day of the month every month) to
get this done.  

---Event listserv---

-Idea of having a listserv that was only for our
events (not meetings or anything else) and a
newsletter that pete volunteered to work on
-Dana said that it would probably be to much work to
do a newsletter, and pete already commits to too much.
-Pete agrees

---Next IMC fundraiser---

This conversation was very convoluted, twisting and
turning, but the end result was very good.  

Basically all of our ideas got the go ahead- but we
lined em up so they'd be easy to knock down.  Each
fundraiser has people assigned to setting up the
basics.

2nd DJ event-for mid September (hopefully)- DJ C and
DJ Flackett (Duotone) hopefully with Lyrical or the
Foundation or both or more.  This is also for the
Harvard Social Forum.  we did it once, we can do it
again- only better!
***Dana will ask DJ C and DJ Flackett
***Tim, in absentia- we ask if you can ask Lyrical
and/or the Foundation?
(***) an afterthought of mine- maybe we should invite
Losstunknown and/or the floorlords? Jamie and I could
maybe do this, that way at least we got some people
sure to dance.

-Variety show- event including a number of different
entertainums- the Circus band? -Spoken word?  Singer
songwriters?  other bands?  Dream House?  see list of
possible bands that follows.  This could happen two
ways- sooner if friend of Dana's who runs the Cha C ha
club wants to host a fundraiser for us. later if we
need to do it ourselves (Sat Oct. 29th was picked for
the latter option)

***Dave will begin asking entertain'ums about their
schedules for Oct.

-Bands/benefit concert- Deb from Exemious has
expressed an interest in helping book a band for a
benny but needs time.  This would be a November show. 

***Pete will send Deb info about the group so she can
interest bands and pete will keep the group informed

---MOvie Screening---

Pete is trying to set up a deal with friend about
screening mardi gras made in china at the coolidge or
brattle with the director in person.  this will
probably involve only promotion and being there for
the director, giving him a place to stay (he can sleep
at my place if need be)

---T-Shirts---

-Dana talked of simple white on Black design
-Pete brought up having a bunch of different color
T-shirts (with only one color ink on each, but not
black or white) - would have a friend who's great with
color consult on combos. 
-Price
-Pete talked about a friend who's cousin does this
professionally in his studio in New Bedford.  Said we
could get $1 per shirt if we provide the shirts.  We
can buy t-shirts wholesale for $1 to $3 depending on
quality.  friend is flexible- can change inks, can
even do more than one design.  Price is based on 300
shirts so do the math- anywhere from $600 to $1200
-Petrina said she doesn't want to break the bank
-Dave also worries of spending too much
***Pete will talk to friend about pricing for smaller
quantities and bring it to the gen meeting
***Designers can start desigining- everyone who wants
to can design one or many options- the more we have
the better.  We can probably use them all in some way
or another- even if we pick only a couple for the
first round of t's

---Videos to sell---

Jamie asked if the video group could produce or get
something from other indymedias to sell at tables.
