Dear Independent Media Affiliate,
Please accept my sincerest apology for sending a lengthly e-mail to you between 19 - 20 January. A member of the indymedia platform referred me to the website for points of contacts for the various cities in the United States. I have been informed by a volunteer at one of the sites that my e-mail was too lengthy and considered as spam due to the fact I was not aware of which department to contact.
With regards to the message I sent, it was not spam. The message I sent was to kindly inform other citizens of the United States of America that military members had no constitutional rights under the Feres doctrine. It was my hope that members of this forum would assist in educating other Americans.
I am a military veteran and a veteran's advocate. With kind regards, I am serving and have served for over 13 years. I never knew that when I raised my hand and swore to serve and defend every American Citizen's constitutional rights that I would be forfeiting mine.
As I said in my initial e-mail, many Americans, including most serving military members, are not aware that the very United States Constitution they have sworn to serve and defend does not apply to them. Even if one finds fault with the current "war on terrorism",the American Citizen serving should still have equal rights.
Henry Kissenger once stated,- "Military men are dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns for foreign policy." Quoted from "The Final Days" by Woodward and Berstein. How would you like to have your son, daughter, mother, father, dear friend rotting away in some enemy's cell or have their body/lives destroyed beyond repair, knowing that the Secretary of State considered him/her nothing more than bargaining fodder to be used for the foreign policy to effect the one world order?
I can not apologize for another member of indymedia providing me access to your e-mail. Apparently, they thought they were doing the right thing. Another kind soul from INDYmedia did provide a suggestion for another avenue and I certainly appreciate their efforts.
If you would, please remember me and others similarly situated. When I raised my hand to serve my country and constitution, I never knew I was swearing away my rights as an AMERICAN.
Please do tell your friends about the injustice of the FERES doctrine to military members and please do visit VERPA.org for more information.
sincerely,
Leigh
