Cassandra West, former WomanNews editor and a Tempo editor at The
Chicago Tribune, just came on board at the Workshop this week as a
half-time staffer. We=E2=80=99re excited to welcome her to assist with our
work in connecting journalists and people with stories to tell about
making communities better or stronger places. She will help with
training as well as with projects related to the Workshop's mission to
support journalists in covering communities and nonprofits.
=E2=80=9CEveryone depends on media in ways that they don=E2=80=99t really r=
ecognize,=E2=80=9D
says Cassandra, "and through my role at the Workshop, I hope to
strengthen the connection between media and those who depend on it." =20
She also teaches at Medill School of Journalism and has some writing
projects under way.
