The calls, e-mails, and faxes are flying to US Senate offices, while concerned citizens gather at the main state offices of each Senator that voted YES for CLOTURE on Tuesday of this week and they are hoping to send a clear message that a Yes vote on cloture today is a yes vote for Amnesty.
"We know that several Senators are under pressure from the Open Borders Lobby (OBL) to vote Yes on cloture and then no on the bill," says William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC. "Concerned citizens are gathering in their offices this morning to await the cloture vote results and to send a clear message that procedural tricks will not fly with the public back home."
The Cloture vote is required for the amnesty bill to proceed to a final vote. Sixty votes are needed for cloture while only 50 votes are required for passage. Any Senator that truly wants to stop the amnesty bill will vote No on Cloture. Some Senators are going to try and vote yes on cloture, then no on the bill and then return to their home states to falsely claim they opposed the bill!
"We are looking at a super majority of Americans opposed to this bill," said William Gheen. "The vast majority of calls to Washington are against this bill, but the Senate is not listening. Citizens gathering in their offices this morning will signal to Senators that they cannot get away from the public wrath if they vote yes on cloture. Today's vote is the deciding vote!"
ALIPAC and many other national and local organizations have joined together in the effort to send concerned citizens into the 64 offices of those that voted Yes on Tuesday, with special focus on the offices of Barbara Boxer, Richard Burr, Ron Wyden, Bayh and Lugar.
Members of the press are encouraged to join concerned citizens in all 64 offices as they await the results and responce to the cloture vote.
