What's in it for us?
A LOT!
Both the House and the Senate have passed health care bills that extend coverage to millions of Americans, make health care more affordable for small businesses and the middle class and hold insurance companies accountable. It is time to pass the bill!
Take a look at some of the benefits which will become available to you soon after the bill becomes law.
Insurance companies will no longer be able to deny you coverage based on a pre-existing condition.
More money will be required to go to your actual care instead of insurance company profits.
Insurance companies will not be able to drop you from the plan when you get sick.
Preventative care will be required as a minimum benefit. This means you get regular check-ups without paying anything out-of-pocket!
Families will get to keep kids on their policies until the kids are 26 or 27.
We need to show our legislators that Americans want health care reform, and we want it now!
Send in your own health care story and tell us how health care reform will help you. ( http://e2ma.net/go/8028436351/2596422/91781530/3144/goto:http://www.cbhconline.org/storyblog/?page_id=2 )

Josh after graduating
Josh, 21, has cystic fibrosis, and on Wednesday, he will celebrate the one year anniversary of his successful lung transplant. Health insurance reform will allow Josh to stay on his parent's plan until he is 26 and buy insurance on his own, something he cannot do now because of pre-existing conditions.
Kaye, small business owner
As small business owners, the Gambles provide health insurance for their nine full time employees, covering everything except the $20 copay. However, in the last eight years, their insurance premiums have increased 48%. Health care reform will gaurantee that the Gambles are spending their hard earned money on care, not on CEO profits.
Brianna and her parents
When Brianna Rice, 17, was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, she had health insurance. Then when Brianna needed it most, her insurance company dropped her. Health reform will make this immoral action, ilegal.
Brent speaking with Sen. Durbin
Brent's mother died of colon cancer last year. A few years prior to her diagnosis, she skipped a routine colonoscopy because her insurance did not cover it and she could not afford it. Insurance reform will require your insurance company to cover preventative care.
