Thanks jesse,
In response to your concerns about the mini-meeetings - Yes, yes, and yes
i a understand and agree with them.
My intentions were to have informal meetings to bring people up to speed
on c-imc, answer questions, FYI etc. without losing any momentum. Since
its been hard to get together for our "official" monthly meetings i wanted
to get the ball rolling as much as possible. Also, for me it can be
awkward to have new folks come to our monthly meetings cuz we end up
spending half the meeting introducing ourselves and doing the history of
the imc and the other half discussing whatever it is we needed to discuss.
Most of these "mysterious new people" either have been interested in
getting involved with indymedia for awhile but couldnt because of
scheduling conflicts or have experience working with imc's in other
cities. I realize i/we have been going a crappy job of giving advance
notice of these events, and it may seem not transparent. soory that my
fault.
anyway we should try to get a better location and firm time. on a positive
note, thereve been new ideas suggested and a few re-encarnations of old
ideas that have gotten all crusted and burnt on out collective back
burners.
it would have been nice to have some of the other collective members there
too but as yet it hasnt happened.
i did invite the newbies to help out on the radio show and hopefully there
will be more collective involvemet in that in the future.
so do we want try to meet this week, Sunday?
