[imc-cms] Picking a CMS

After today's meeting I've been wondering about how we are picking CMSs
to evaluate and what we want to include.

It seems that a slowly growing number of IMCs are picking Drupal... this
is a process I support.

People and IMCs start using Drupal because they can. Drupal easily meets
minimum needs (and more) of an IMC. There are also more than a few
people to set up and support it. It works already and people like me
will volunteer. To me this suggests that there is no need to put extra
time and effort into support for a system like this, although our
present efforts (including my own) need to be collected together better.

The current new CMS process is built on randomly wandering through CMS.
But this process is already being done organically beyond this group...
hence people picking a CMS like Drupal already.

There are 1000s of CMS. Why pick do we pick those that we are picking?
Can admins and users feed this process?

Why just follow people in picking s/Drupal/anothersimilarcms/ because it
works already simply in the short term? Maybe a little bit more vision
is needed... As Toya and Jebba discussed briefly at the start of the
meeting today there should be the chance to plug into something that
isn't already in the radar of CMS.
What are we looking for? What is up coming?
