For me, the main problem with choosing Drupal without any evaluation
is that there are a lot of things still unclear -
1) Is it the best for a distributed server architecture?
2) Is it the best for Indymedia's unique legal problems which some of
the individual IMC's using it have not yet faced?
3) Persuant to #s 1 & 2, what is Drupal's capacity overall for
redundancy and how will we organize backups / distributed data storage /
distributed serving, etc?
Meeting the minimum needs of designing a site that looks like an IMC
is something that a million software packages can do.
We should proceed with certainty because not doing it right the first
time is going to negate any time/labor savings we expect to get out of
this.
