Kia ora koutou

My name is Danyl Strype, I am from the islands of Aotearoa (also known
for the British colony of New Zealand, now apparently registered as
'Rosemary Banks' on the NYSE).

A little about me. I was one of the grapevine of folk who set up the
Aotearoa IMC, which I remained actively involved in for about 7 years. I
recently retired from administrative service, but still read and post to
the newswire. For about 5 years, I have also been involved in the
working group brainstorming up the concept for the Alternatives IMC, and
attempting to figure out how to make it a working reality. I spoke to
the recent Rio Techmeet via Skype about our proposal to work with the
IMC techs to use alt-imc as a testbed for the new cms.

I have joined this list for a number of reasons:
Firstly, I'm keen to support Jay in laising between the techs working on
the new cms, and the imc-alt crew (and the new Aotearoa IMC tech).
Secondly, I'm keen to learn more about the new cms itself, what codebase
will be (or has been) chosen, the proposed roadmap for hacking it for
Indy use, and rolling it out, and any help I might be able to offer with
my own severely limited tech skills.
Thirdly, I'm keen to see if other activist and alternative networks I'm
involved with can benefit from the general principles of the proposed
distributing serving model, or indeed become part of the Indy
implementation of it. One example is the indigenous peoples news site
currently hosted by the Apache (the tribe, not the software ;)

Looking forward to working with you all!
