I finish university in early November. After that I could do some
html-izing and other other simple, but time consuming coding work. A
sort of indy summer of code (which will be the season here).

I will get stuck and need advice. I was about to revive the idea of
setting up an imc-alt-tech list, but on reflection it would be sensible
for me to join the imc-cms and ask such questions there. So I've done
that. I'll keep an eye on the archives of the tech list too (does anyone
know how to set up listserver.indy.org lists in an .rss feed reader that
runs on Linux

BTW For anyone who's using Drupal (or planning to migrate), here is some
advice on improving performance and security for indydrupal sites I
picked up off imc-tech tonight:
