the search engine was stopped because i fancy ruling by conspiracy and 
tradition.  it has nothing to do with technical problems with the tool and
the fact is was half backed and that it was better to put it down so that
the server could be used to send e-mails instead of spending all its time
feeding a tool that nobody used anyway.

The New archive software was installed to annoy you personnaly, it has 
nothing to do with the fact that it allows admins to delete posts or
provide stable links for the wiki, say.

now i'm all annoyed because the new archiving software will allow us to have
this search engine running smoothly, and i'll have to turn in back on because
your discovered my own personal conspiracy to take over the world.  on the
other hand, perhaps it's not too bad, it might give this tool a competitive
advantage over yahoo, altavista, msn search and yahoo, given that none of
them can be used to search lists.indymedia, eh ?
