[Imc-communication] roll call

This process is natural and right. If a person were to ask to move into
a community house or be part of a video project or whatever, they would
make their request, have some sort of interview, and then the current
people would discuss that person, asking honest questions about their
reliability, goals, interests, skills and so on. The difference here is
that those discussions are available to the person making application
whereas in most cases they are not.
Every human being and human project asks such questions, feels such
concerns. This is how life works.
This is also why there is value in private conversation not available
to all. But if it is going to be available to all, there should be no
expectation for every post to be nice and welcoming.
and yes, as mp wrote, human interactions over the internet are chaotic
and discussion is not in linear time as people read and respond on
different time frames.

Hi all,
I'd like to withdraw my request to join the list.
If I'd known that I'd be publicly judged like this, I wouldn't have
tried in the first place. Anna, I wish you would have asked me before
starting this. I find it very unfair that people are discussing me on
a list that I'm not supposed to be able to post to.
Basically, I just wanted to respond to the statement about me
"spamming," and then I figured I'd hang around, as I intend to get
involved in Indymedia.
I believe in Indymedia, but you people can be very unwelcoming at times.
And, by the way, this research project of mine is nearly complete.
Aside from wrapping up a few interviews, I only have writing to do.
