What do you consider spamming?

I only got one email asking if I was interested.  I imagine that if I had said
"no", he would have left me alone.

Has anyone felt harrassed by him, or received multiple emails?

I consider his approach to be much more palatable than the researcher who wanted
to put a survey on the global front page.  At least Toban has done his homework
and contacted the relevant people directly.

How would you expect a genuine researcher to go about collecting data?
