Communications Rights Delegation to the World Social Forum in
Call for Participants! (No time to lose!)
Join a group of media activists and policy advocates as part of a
delegation to the World Social Forum in Caracas, Venezuela from
22nd to 29th. In addition to participating in the Forum, visits will
also be scheduled with community radio and tv stations, government
ministries, grassroots groups and other places of interest.
The delegation will be broadly representative of media and
communications groups, issues and campaigns currently underway. The
delegation will be 10 to 15 people, and all delegates must be
representatives of groups that have a role in media and social
issues. The cost is not yet set, but will be roughly $2000,
hotels and admission to the WSF included. Funds are available for
scholarships, which will be awarded on a sliding scale, smaller
organizations getting more of their costs covered. The delegation
being organized by Third World Majority and Prometheus Radio
with major support from Consumers Union, The Social Sciences
Council, and others.
Deadline to apply to join the delegation: January 2nd, 2006.
