hi,

first of all: i'm sure you are doing great work with UC IMC in UC. And 
if you want to buy a building then that's up you - even though there are 
other IMCs for which that is unthinkable.

but personally I am getting more and more irritated in the way in which 
UC IMC seems to present itself as *the* centre of Indymedia.

one the one hand: yes, it's good that you are dealing with the bank 
account, and for the US your status might be relevant. But it is totally 
irrelevant for the rest of the world, and I am sure there are other IMCs 
who could deal with global finances as well. So why is it necessary to 
constantly repeat that uc-imc is the fiscal sponsor of the global 
network? or maybe it would be better to rotate such tasks and 
responsibilities/

and secondly: if it would have only been a radio person making a mistake 
by calling UC IMC or your building *the* centre of the global indymedia 
network: fine. if it was only a sentence on a website, that people 
overlooked repeatedly: fine as well, even though the irritated reaction 
of so many people should show people from UC IMC that we are not 
surprised anymore if you were actually presenting yourself as that.

But what now really get's me is Sasha's actual quote on the radio 
programme:
"There is over 150 IMCs in 50+ countries worldwide, and this IMC here in 
Urbana Champain is the umbrella under which the entire global network 
operates. We are in essence, the global headquarters for the indymedia 
movement, here in urbana"
