hi,
i have just sent a proposal to imc-brasil-tech to host a wiki for
indymedia book - a more global vision of it - based on conversations
online with other imc volunteers around the globe and also based on brasil
imc network gathering on april of this year.
On brasil gathering we talked a lot bout the importance and necessity of
having our memories as a network. We had a proposal to start writing it
down and then the indybook project came out but it seems hard to have a
process where ppl from the network can participate (special with all the
communication problems with the project ppl - the questions asked etc).
Even so nothing better then an open colaboration system to write indymedia
memories, the wiki would open the barries like languague barries for
instance - ppl can write in their own languague if they want to...doesnt
have to be all in english...
also the indybook project could use it for the creation of it's articles
as well.
Why not use docs?
well docs proposal is quite diferent, is more for documentation of our
process and of the working groups process and sometimes of the softwares
we use to organize ourselves or to produce media etc...
also docs cant be edit right now..
why not create a section on docs??
well maybe because it will not give the view as we would like it to..like
if we have a wiki only for this it will be easier for ppl to find it and
colaborate with it.
anw..just saying the proposal was sent to brasil-tech ...havent got
consensus bout it yet but i thought it would be nice to let the network
know that this proposal is out :))
ciao
toya
