not sent to oceania list as I am blocked from that list as are others who have argued with the list maintainers. Internal activism for reform by small IMCs is actively suppressed in Oceania. Don't be a sheep and follow the mob. We have the right to be agitators as is shown by the frequent delistings to come from this troubled regional group.

Nice ammendment Danyl. It doesn't address the issue of scapegoating which would make any squeaky wheel paranoid but its a good start. I assume you also wan't Brisbane indymedia to be relisted on the same basis?

The problems that Mick is complaining about are only with Oceania and groups within it that host other groups. The principles of unity don't mention regional groups such as Oceania. It seems obvious to me that
Mick should be asked to have nothing to do with oceania and just be another autonomous indymedia. Two Darwin indymedias is the solution recommended in the POU. They could be listed as Darwin xxx and Darwin yyy. I'm sure they could agree to different suffixes.

You will of course notice that the POU talks about autonomy. Unity isn't itself a principle. Autonomy is good for diversity. If groups don't want to work together but regional bodies force them to yoou
wind up with the conflicts found with Brisbane Darwin and Manilla.
Oceania has had a habit of taking over these groups and/or censoring them. That sort of majority rule / persecution of single groups really should stop.

Autonomy. Autonomy. Autonomy.

Stop the badgering on all sides. Seperate and deescalate...

Seperate y deescalate...

Looking at the reactions Asher and I got from Mick I have no problem
agreeing that he is completely unreasonable and suffering from
something of a paranoid persecution complex.

"Any collective wishing to call itself Darwin Indymedia would
therefore require, as part of it's constitution, to exclude this
    individual and would automatically
forfeit it's place as an IMC if he were ever to become a member."

I think it would be reasonable to request (or even insist) that he not
be a spokesperson for Darwin IMC in communications with the rest of
the network. However I don't think it's for us to tell the rest of the
Darwin IMC who to have in their collective. What about the principle
    of voluntary association?

Can I offer a modified proposal?

"Because of his history of unreasonable and abusive communications,
Mick Lambe is not welcome to be a spokesperson on behalf of any
collective affiliated with the Global IMC network for [x] years (x =
2, 5, 10?). Any collective wishing to call itself Darwin Indymedia is
required to provide spokespeople other than Mick Lambe to regional and
global lists as per the Membership Criteria. Any collective allowing
Mick Lambe to speak on their behalf during this time period would
automatically forfeit it's place as an IMC.

I will cc this to the Oceania list but I assume we have a spokes on
the IMC-Oceania? Please keep us informed as the discussion progresses.
