We at imc-alternatives agree. :)))

Absolutely. This is why we're reaching out to
imc-tech, imc-cms and the network as this point,
while both projects are still in their earliest
stages. There are only a couple code-savvy
people who are on the imc-alternatives list right
now, and while we have had some discussion of
possilbe code bases to use for the site (that is
when the idea of drupal and plone came up, among
other options, becuase those were codebases with
which they're currently familiar), we definitely
have to connect with a community of enthusiastic
techies to make this part of the vision possible.

There is real excitement in the imc-alternatives
group about working closely with the imc-cms
effort, with one possible (and potentially ideal)
route being to develop the alternatives site as a
test project for indymedia's new code. So, we're
reaching out now to introduce the
imc-alternatives project to imc-tech and imc-cms
in order to start figuring out the best way to work together.
