"under our umbrella"?? think about the way that sounds. and think,  
especially, how that must sound to the people who actually worked to  
produce the film, none of whom are *you.*

You see, this is exactly the kind of presumptuous, hierarchal,  
grasping attitude that has me very, very concerned about the direction  
in which UC is trying to take indymedia. such a sense of ownership you  
have! and apparently, it is the money that makes you think so. being a  
fiscal sponsor somehow leads you to claim ownership, entitlements, and  
power over the work of others, and that is not yours to claim.

this is what happens with the money. this is how it will be if the  
money thing is not dealt with, i think. it will be wealthy whitey in  
the North "benevolently" (aka imperialistically) deigning to spread  
out its big umbrella over the top of the rest of the world, and mining  
the work of others as surely as corporate america mines the bodies,  
minds and resources of the South. having access to money and a will to  
weild it should not entitle UC to the kind of power and influence it  
is seeking.

i cannot speak for anyone but myself, but i do not think the rest of  
the world wants to be "under" anyone's umbrella.
