(en) The last bit "indymedias is global" is not true - i understand the
word "global" about global indymedia lists to mean global *within
indymedia*.  Indymedia itself is *not* (yet) global.

It could be accurate to say we are semi-global, since North+South
America + Europe + Oceania + WAsia + Japan/Manila/QC/Jakarta covers roughly 3
billion of the 6 billion of us, and misses out the other half.  The
big missing regions are of course India and China, the other main
parts of Asia (South-East, East, South, Central) and Africa. (There is
a loose group of people who formally are called imc india, but this has
not yet got to the state of being a normally functioning, self-sustaining
imc.)

IMHO "semi-global" is more or less accurate, "global" is clearly false.


(fr) La dernière partie "indymedias is global" n'est pas tout à fait
vraie - je comprends le mot « global » dans le contexte des listes
globales d'indymédia de signifier « à l'intérieur d'indymédia ». 
Indymedia en tant que tel n'est *pas* (encore) global.

Il pourrait être exacte si on disait que nous sommes demi-global,
puisque l'Amérique Nord+Sud + Europe + Océanie + Asie occidentale +
Japon/Manila/QC/Jakarta c'est 3 milliards environ de nos 6 milliards, 
et il manque l'autre moitié. Les régions manquantes principales sont, 
bien sûr, l'Inde et la Chine, et les autres parties principales de
l'Asie (sud-est, est, sud, centrale) et l'Afrique.  (Il existe un groupe
floue de gens qui formellement constituent imc inde, mais ils ne sont pas
encore arrrivés à un stade de fonctionnement normal, qui dure de façon
autonome sur le long terme.)

AMHA « démi-global » est plus ou moins exacte, « global » est
évidemment inexacte.
