This is great news! Congratulations. :)

I can imagine how this will help to get more contributions for the book
when you are going to revive it.

I even more now hope you will find the time to carry on with this
project after a possible summer break.

This sounds like a good plan to me, too. Indymedia is a collective
process without an editorial team (well, in most cases), and I very much
like the idea of a book written about it being created in the same way:
collectively.

Deutsche Übersetzung (Zusammenfassung):

Das indybook-Projekt, das bisher auf Basis einer kommerziellen Lizenz
arbeitete, hat nun seinen Verleger, den US-Verlag Disinfo, davon
überzeugen können, das Buch unter eine Creative Commons-Lizenz zu
stellen. Weiterhin hat sich das bisherige Redakteursteam entschlossen
den redaktionellen Prozess zu öffnen, so dass auch weitere
IMC-Aktivisten an dem Buch selbst mitarbeiten können. Bisher sollte es
Nicht-Redakteuren nur möglich sein, Texte für das kommerzielle Werk
anzuliefern die dann von dem Redaktionsteam geprüft und ggf. angepasst
oder zurückgewiesen worden wären.

Unter diesen neuen Bedingungen kann das Buch nicht nur inhaltlich das
rüberbringen was Indymedia ist, sondern auch dadurch, wie es entstanden
ist: in einem kollektiven (und hoffentlich hierarchiefreien/-armen
basisdemokratischen) Prozess.
