I also saw the biotech site up and running just a few days ago... maybe they're just running into tech problems.

dozen dead imc links in cities.inc by manually going through them but I
couldn't face going through the 50 sites in the USA or the similar number
of european sites so I used an online link validator and didn't double
check the results.

After the replies to the previous list there is clearer status on some...

video.indymedia.org - now accepting uploads after problem being noticed
radio.indymedia.org - website is dead but server was used for g8 streaming
boston.indymedia.org - down at time of test, now up again and fine
kenya.indymedia.org - off but apparently coming back really soon
www.stlimc.org - no editorial features, collective reorganizing
hamilton.indymedia.org - closed to publishing but perhaps to return
melbourne.indymedia.org - publishing suspended, but perhaps to return
bc.indymedia.org / victoria.indymedia.org - off for now, may relaunch
ontario.indymedia.org - 8 months of downtime. up now, just very slow or
timing out. only spam in newswire this year.

These can all be assumed to be coming back and it would be great to hear
anything people know about the rest of them...

The revised list has 27 sites (out of about 180) which seem to be dead,
broken, hacked or closed.

http://tnimc.org/ (forbiden)
http://detriot.org/ (hacked?)
http://mumbai.indymedia.org/ (hacked?)
http://beirut.indymedia.org/ (collective desolved a few months ago)
http://process.indymedia.org/faq.php3 (long gone)

That's almost 1 in 6 links in the cities.inc apparently dead (and there
are almost certainly others which are working sites but with no active
collective anymore). So, I still would like to see a proposal go to
process with the aim of weeding out whatever sites continue to dead or
closed.
