Hello,
I'm writing to ask why your editorial collective has hidden my article
that was published on the Rogue IndyMedia website? It was titled:
"Merchants of Pus" - Antiwar community activists targeted with personal
harassment by Right-wingers"
The article still exists online, but you have removed its links and its
listing entirely: it is nowhere to be found either on the column of
Local or Global listings, nor can it be accessed through the website's
search mode.
Here is a recording made by Google from when the article was still
listed on the right-hand column:

or

It's also mirrored here:

or

The article you have hidden is here:
http://rogueimc.org/en/2007/10/9308.shtml
I was (pleasantly) surprised to see that even one of your readers -
apparently a fan of christian music news - has seen some value in the
article and reposted parts of it before you hid it:
http://www.topix.com/music/christian/2007/10/merchants-of-pus-community-activists-targeted
I don't understand what led you to this decision, nor is there any
justification published by your editorial collective about it. Nor was I
notified in any way, even though my contact information is clearly
published on that article (a rare thing on indymedia, someone who writes
with a real name and address?).
The news of what happens to antiwar activists in Oregon are entirely
appropriate for the pages of Rogue imc - there's a lot of other material
on those pages of news from Portland and elsewhere in the State, and
also from all over the US.
I see that you have no problem publishing articles from Jew-haters and
white supremacists like Captain Eric May - is this part of the reason
you hid my article? Here's two articles by "Captain disMay" right on
your pages:
http://rogueimc.org/en/2006/07/6865.shtml
and
http://rogueimc.org/en/2006/08/7123.shtml
Are there any of his supporters among your organization? If you are not
aware that he is a conscious and purposive Jew-hating leader, please
read here:
TANGLED WEB: 'False-flag Racism'
by Radix
http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2007/10/366925.shtml
or the article by Sara Lamadrid, titled
"Capt May is an Anti-Semite":
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/911truthportland/message/144
It seems that you have no discomfort promoting the work of a known
Jew-hater, but you hide an article which exposes the threat and
harrassment campaign against Peace activists being carried out by
supporters of Captain May and Webster Tarpley - a curious political
orientation, I must say.
If you're not aware that Webster Tarpley is a disciple of the
"all-American" fascist Lyndon Larouche (formely known as Lynn Marcus),
you might study about him here:
http://lyndonlarouchewatch.org/newamericanfascism.htm
or here:
http://www.heritage.org/Research/PoliticalPhilosophy/IA28.cfm?renderforprint=1
If you would like to know about Webster Tarpley's relation to Larouche,
here's some initial material:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Webster_Tarpley&oldid=164371481
If you would like to know about what their supporters are doing in
Portland attacking and disrupting our anti-war work, please have a look
here:
"The Minor and Petty Disruptors"
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/911truthportland/message/162
Is your editorial decision to hide my article related to any sympathies
among your members toward Webster Tarpley or Larouche? Is that why
material by a Jew-hating leader like Captain Eric May is found on the
pages of Rogue imc while articles exposing them vanish?
Perhaps it was just a mistake.
In that case, please re-instate the article, and please make sure that
all the materials by Captain May and his supporters are removed from
your pages. Even the Editorial Policy of Rogue IndyMedia clearly says
that articles will be hidden if they are:
"Posts which use language, imagery, or other forms of communication
whose sole purpose is to promote racism, fascism, xenophobia,
homophobia, sexism, able-ism, ageism or any other form of discrimination."
I expect that it applies to all materials which make a racist or white
supremacist "look good", or somehow promote the credibility of
supremacists like Captain May.
I eagerly look forward to a response from you.
Thank you,
Petros
