I read through Shayne's Mail and agree that people's careers and
especially feelings shouldn't be damaged.
I just thought that it would be quite some work to identify the pieces
that should be deleted, because on the other hand, Indymedia is an open
and transparent network, for which documentation is important-
When I read Petro's Mail (response to Shayne's Mail), I felt angry and
confused, because the way I read it, gives me the impression, that Mick
Lambe fell victim to some cruel guys in the indymedia network...and I
was afraid, that this could open the old discussion again...hope this
won't be the case, as i am not sure whether very much has changed yet...
In any way, my impression is, that it is not an easy tak to identify
which pages should be deleted or whatsoever.
*Proposal*
A good way forward could be that Mike himself, lists links to all the
pages and documents he wants to be deleted. Otherwise my assumption is
that nobody will do anything, because there are so many pages and it
will be hard to find out which pages are perceived as negative.
Once there is a list of pages that should be deleted, it would be much
easier to decide, if deleting (part of) the content of these pages would
be a gud thing to do, balancing indymedia's transparent documentation
approach with Mike's (and the others who were involved) individual rights.
I wish that there will be an easy and quick solution for this one.
Love & Solidarity,
Ben
