RE: Deletion of posts surrounding Darwin IMC conflict

I do not think it sufficient that Mick himself is the arbiter of what
is libelous, or damaging, and should be deleted. I think there is a
danger that certain posts will be deleted that focus on one person,
while posts on other people will be left up. Also, the history of the
conflict is likely to become non-sensical if posts are selectively
deleted without care.

Early in the history of Darwin IMC - during its establishment -
comments by one person were deleted from an online discussion blog
making the conflict history of Darwin 'fuzzy'. I do not want to see
this happen on the global lists.

In theory I have no objections to removal of abusive, libellous, or
personally damaging postings, but I think great care needs to be taken
that we do not distort the historical context.

So, who wants to be the neutral party to wade through all the postings
and put forward a proposal of what should stay and what should be
deleted?
