[Imc-communication] Portland joins block

Portland IMC has just consensed to join IMC Rosario in blocking the  
Knight foundation grant, for all of the reasons that have already been  
articulated on this list.

I realize this comes a little late, as Sofia has said:

> no one here (including myself) are trying to convince people to move

(Just to be clear, does that mean the proposal is being withdrawn? If  
not, then we ask that it be withdrawn.)

I want to add that the issues that Sofia and others have brought up  
are important, and I would like to see us come up with solutions. I  
appreciate the work that Sofia has done to put her concerns into  
specific questions that we can seek answers to. Now Eric from Big  
Muddy has asked for some assistance, and it sounds like Boston could  
use some as well. Can we work together to help them with what they  
need? What can we do to strengthen our channels of mutual aid? How can  
we help each other to do the work we need to do, so that none of us  
feels like we need to turn to questionable foundations and/or paid  
labor to get this done?

I don't have the answers to all these questions yet, but these are the  
things I would like for us to be discussing.
