[Imc-communication] the don't ask, don't tell imc policy

hi,

I'm officially unsubscribing from this list as I think I've wasted too much of my time on the grant "debate," and the more I dwell in here, the more discouraged I get. Thanks Shiar for finally putting me over the edge by your incredibly disrespectful email to the years of volunteering that I have given to the IMC but most importantly, to the Boston Imc collective as a whole. 

Thanks to all of those who offered words of support and encouragement behind the scenes. It is sad to see how we have created an environment at the IMC of "don't ask, don't tell" where local IMCs try to solve problems or serve their local communities on their own instead of seeking dialogue with the network as a whole. 

But worse, there is a general sense of fear of being the target of attacks, insults, and outright threats of getting removed from the collective in the name of "non-capitalism" while we are all living in a privileged internet-linked world with computers at the taps of our fingers...  So eager to making accusations, few questions asked.

Thanks for all of those who tried to make sense of all of this despite the fear.

My apologies for ever bringing it up.

Estoy removimiendo mi nombre oficialmente de esta lista ya que he gastado suficiente tiempo en este debate de la propuesta y mientras más me quedo aquí, más desilución me da. Gracias Shiar por finalmente ponerme al límite de mi paciencia con tu increíblemente irrespetuoso email a los años de trabajo como voluntaria para el IMC, ni se diga al colectivo de Boston.

Gracias a todos aquellos que me apoyaron detrás del telón. Es super triste ver como se ha creado un ambiente en el IMC de "sin preguntas, no hay respuestas" donde los IMCs locales resuelven sus problemas individualmente en vez de recurrir a un diálogo con la red global.

Pero peor que eso, hay un ambiente aquí de miedo de ser el blanco de ataques, insultos, y hasta amenazas de ser expulsados del colectivo en el nombre del "no-capitalismo" mientras estamos todos viviendo una vida de privilegio de conexión al internet con acceso inmediato a computadores... Tan ansiosos a apuntar el dedo y con pocas ganas de hacer preguntas.

Gracias a todos aquellos que hicieron el intento de darle sentido a todo esto a pesar del miedo.

Y mis disculpas por abrir esta discusión.
