To the imc-docs working group:
Sorry for not voicing my appreciation for mcp's work and my agreement in
proceeding to this earlier.

To all:
Since almost a month has passed since the imc-docs working group passed
this inquiry to imc-communication, imc-docs and imc-tech, it's about
time to sum up the responses:

* Elisa says that CMI Brasil is still using the wiki in parts, and wants
to check back with the CMI and asks for it to remain in the meantime (no
deadline was provided).
  This brings up more questions:
  * How long will it take CI Brasil to get back on this? Can we have a
    deadline, please?

* Maxigas suggests to not make the wiki read-only but to require admin
approval to activate new accounts.
  This brings up more questions:
  * Who is ths admin who will keep maintaining this site?
  * Will this admin also install security upgrades for the software
(which would not be neccessary if the wiki was transformed into a
    static, HTML only site)
  * Does this limit contributions to existing accounts or only to
accounts which are newly created or manually whitelisted? How to
deal with the possibility of abuse by existing spammer accounts (is
    this a problem at all)?

* Maxigas offers "a few hours of work every couple of months" on the wiki

* Kardan asks for usage stats based on server logs to get an idea of how
much the site is still used.
I think such stats would not be too useful unless they are refined by
removing all search engine bots and spammers, which can take quite a
while. I think it's really better to hear back from those who still use
the wiki. Apparently some do, so we need to come up with a solution /
compromise there.
