hi, adding a language to the db is a little more trouble than it should 
be, involving manually adding db columns and some code changes.  I 
should make a UI for adding languages which would add the db columns (or 
get rid of these columns and store all translations in one column), and 
get rid of the hard-coding of languages so no code changes are required.

there is definitely no code to extract translations from a plist but 
that would be nice to have.
