Hi Peter,
how are you doing...
things in Bamako are slowly going, I suppose, but the problem with
volonteer networks is that you can't make people work faster...which in
the case of the provisional Bamako CMI page would be really important.
I am happy the guys from Ireland took it on, anyway, and hopefully the
page will come into existance...soon...
the IMC in Africa list can help maybe I am thinking of writing
something to encourage people to write articles for the list first or
something...Ternas and any other french speakers support on the list to
translate and include the mali and togo activists would be really
helpful
.
for nairobi we need to be prepared, have a provisional page ready when
we go there (I saw your suggestion on the communications list before
Mali started...good one! but its not about the domain) I think we do
not need a indy domain, but we do need a page in advance....the one
Yoram is running for east arfrica is nice and it could be one like
this.

Umverteilen was happy with the report (its online, you can see it) and
asked us hand in the next proposal a bit earlier ;-)

For Nairobi...I have this Idea which I like to discuss with you and IMC
Southafrica...
The idea is, instead of flying to Nairobi from SA, we get a big bus
(school bus type) and install computers, video cutting facilities and a
radio and a projector and we do a little media lab tour from SA to
Nairobi...say from October to January....Now it might not apeal to you
(busy man, aren't you...) but I guess there are some activists (esp
young) who would love this...Personally I would be on that bus for
sure...
We could do serveral things...
connect
contact
collect
local media activists from the countries inbetween and bring them to
Nairobi....cheap and green

also we could also genueniely produce a remarkable event for a lot of
activists...who will hopefully stay with Indymedia therafter...
what do you reckon?

Best
Fabian
