[Imc-ct] National Indymedia Meeting

Letty and I just had a meeting to brainstorm some
ideas regarding the as yet hypothetical national
meeting. We came up with some general items we thought
could be addressed at such a meeting.

We though one of the main functions of the meeting
should be social, allowing comrades from the different
collectives to get to know each other and share
experiences and visions, learn from each other, etc.

We need to discuss a date, venue, duration, transport
and funding for this event.

The following points are not meant as a programme or
agenda for the meeting, but just to get us started.
Give them some thought so that we can flesh them out,
add and subtract at this Sunday's collective meeting.


1 - Organisational Issues
(How do the different collectives operate. How do we
continue to build each collective and Indymedia
nationally. Interaction/corporation between the
different collectives. Constitution)

2 - Focus areas
(What news do we cover: housing, electricity, water,
labour, education struggles, elections, globalisation
issues, etc.)

3 - Media
(What are the experiences with the various forms of
media we produce: newsletter, video, audio. How do we
distribute our media).

4 - Fundraising
(How do we access funds and raise money)

5 - Skill shares / training workshops
(Share our skills in writing, photography,
interviewing, video and audio, etc. Perhaps bring in
outside "experts" as well).

6 - World Social Forum 2007 in Nairobi
(Overland caravan. Plan early to avoid another Bamako
situation).
