Hi
I've just joined this list.
I'm aware that the indycymru site is no longer functioning and that
there are some strong feelings around its demise. If people can
re-start it, then I'm sure that's fine, but what I am particularly
interested in is a Wales indymedia group which would be part of the
Indymedia United Kollectives, whose aims and objectives etc. I am happy
to accept. The reason I'd like to see this is that when I post to
indymedia uk, posts about Welsh news get lost very quickly amongst
everything else. If Wales had its own site, then Welsh posts could
still be sent to the UK site, but could also be viewed together on a
Wales indymedia site, wouldn't get lost so easily, and I could see what
sort of things were happening in other parts of Wales without having to
do too much hunting around. I think that it would be a good place for
activists in Wales to share what they are doing, rally support, etc. I
think we could ask indymedia uk to help us with techie things, we'd
share their server and they would help us get a web site sorted out.
What do existing members of this group think about this idea?
Genny
