this is correct.

This is not correct Ian. There is no such application. The application is
the form I already noted, http://newimc.indymedia.org, which should only
be filled once all your documentation is ready. In any case, that form was
not received filled by new-imc list.
Regarding other emails making the case for a site not hosted with imc uk
or even not with imc, sorry to sound authoritarian but this list is called
imc-cymru for a reason - it was given by the IMC network in order for you
people to set up an 'imc' site. Setting up any other kind of site,
discussions for it, arguments for something different from imc, should not
take place on this list.
So, although Seren's effort in making a case for an imc should be
appreciated, it is not necessary - it is perfectly OK to assume that every
one on this list is willing to set up an imc.
So I will only respond to one point from "CymruEuropaPress"
<waleseuropa at yahoo.co.uk>:

I would answer with a 'no, not yet' if you were arguing that doing it
within Indymedia as opposed to Indymedia UK would be better, but you are
not. You want an argument as to do it with indymedia or with some one
else. There is no need to argue that point. This is an indymedia list - it
needs to be used to talk indymedia, in the case of cymru (list name is
imc-cymry) to create an indymedia wales site, since there is not one.
All other discussions to create a site somewhere else, or please convince
me to create an indymedia site because i'm not too convinced, should not
happen on this list. There are lots of email services that offer mailing
lists and you are welcome to invite people to those forums - this one is
for creating - and then administering - an indymedia site.
Before some one jumps saying there 'is' imccymru, no that is not an
indymedia site, it has not passed any new imc process, neither with the
global one, new-imc process, nor with imc uk.
As for the meeting, I was not suggesting that you come to a london imc
meeting. I was suggesting the network-wide meeting. Although it may as
well be happening in London.
Independent of this, I suggest you hold a meeting in a location in Wales
that is feasable for all, or at least as many people as possible, and
start discussing what sort of site you want. But please do read as much
documentation as you can, first.
In the past, people from London travelled to many cities including in
Scotland to help groups set up their own indymedias. This could be done
with Wales too, but I was suggesting the network meeting because it is a
golden opportunity for you, we haven't had one in about two years so they
do not happen regularly, and you could receive first hand experience from
groups that have done both the global new-imc process and the local imc-uk
one.
Ian has recommended to subscribe to imc-uk-features list. Please do. Yes,
some people think there is too much hiding going on. There are reasons for
this, although at the same time people there has been a slow down with the
creation of the promoted wire. But please do subscribe and do introduce
yourselves if you wish, and do participate.
I would love to see an indymedia wales, in whatever form you decide.
